Light Olive Sierra Grande

Ok so i have a 72 sierra grande that was orinally the light med olive with a white top. ( i thinks it called medium olive? or light olive) since then it has been painted grey, and i want to change it back to the olive minus the white top. I really like the color of C10-Driver's but i think it is a little to flashy for mine and i think the original is too dull lol. it is a 4x4 and will have 4in of lift with the full trim. so i just want some peoples input on colors. add paint codes and pics if possible?

It`s Medium Olive and it`s not dull at all when it`s fresh.

Re: Light Olive Sierra Grande

My 4x4 is medium olive with white top and it looks good as a color option. If you play with the pressure of the gun you can lighten or darken the color a bit. I can email you some pics of the bed (only thing painted at the moment) if you would like to see.

Re: Light Olive Sierra Grande

I'm still trying to get ahold of the guy who painted mine through the previous owner for the mix he used, but they have not gotten back. Mine has more gold metallic than the original, which really makes it shine nicely. It has held up good to as it is not garaged and is about 6 years old now.

P.S. thanks for the pic leddzepp

Re: Light Olive Sierra Grande

My truck was also medium olive.(or so my SPID says) After 38 years the paint was shot and I painted it this color which is Nason British Racing Green. Actually, I think it's closer to Forest green. The interior is still the original color because it held up OK and it kinda goes with the exterior color.

Re: Light Olive Sierra Grande

My truck was originally the medium olive as well but it was repainted many times since in darker greens but I found the medium olive in many places. I am about to repaint and thought that the medium olive again but I like something darker.

Re: Light Olive Sierra Grande

My 72 is 504 medium olive, and when it's done it will have a white top even though it didn't come with the white top from the factory, I would just like it that way?

Re: Light Olive Sierra Grande

I`ve seen some mixed with too much silver. It looks washed out.It should look almost like a candy apple green when done in BC/CC.Most people hated this color until more trucks were restored. They were judging by it`s tired state. It`s high metallic and was prone to fading.Shouldn`t have that with urethane.
