6cyl 3 speed standard to 4spd auto...

My daily cruster came with a 250 6cyl which I really like but not so much the 3 on the tree standard tranny, so I swapped it to a 200 4r 4 speed auto. This has to be one of the best mods you can do to a standard trans truck. The truck runs and drives like a complete different vehicle. The TV cable and gas pedal cable brackets took a little fabrication but overall it was an easy swap. Block mounted starter, an auto crossmember, and radiator with a cooler tank were about the only things I had to change. I had those so it saved some time. Even uses the same driveshaft. I'm going to install my tilt and hook the shifter now that I've had a chance to test drive it several miles. Makes crusty even more fun to drive...sweet

Sweet. I always thought that a 700r4 in my 72 C10 would make a nice driving machine. Though I am a gear shifter at heart and like its sm465.

I have a 250 with a 700r4 that makes a great combo.

Nothing beats shifting it on your own. I have a feeling you'll miss it some day.

I have a 700R4 in my truck. I don't have a 6, but it makes for a great driving truck! You will love the 4 speed.

I used to love sticks, and I still like driving them, but the older I get the more I love my auto!!! My knees are getting sick of pushing in a clutch!!!

My stepper was a 3 speed manual when I got it and I changed it over to a 4 speed auto. I loves it!!!
