New and checking in

Hello All,

I just purchased a 1966 ProStreet C10.The truck has a narrowed 9" with ladder bars and 33x21.50x15 MT rear .Front end is a 72 camaro clip.Truck has 4 point cage inside the the cab with 2 bars running out back.Body is in great shape.Glass is good.

I bought truck with no motor, trans or 3rd member.

Plans for my new toy.(This will be a street truck)
1.Tear down to frame to clean, inspect and paint
2.Build 496 BBC with 150 shot of spray(already have the 454 STD bore)
3.Turbo 400 with a 2800 rpm stall(aready have trans built)
4.Rebush front end.
5.Redo inside the bed.
6.Decide on paint color.
7.Figuring out what gears to run(4.11?)

Looking forward to getting help and sharing what I can with others

Chris

Re: New and checking in

if that truck fit on a u haul car trailer. I should have no problem with mine. The front sheetmetal and engine are out and the bed will be off. Just a rolling frame with a cab on it.

Thumbs up Re: New and checking in

Again, sweet ride. When ya take that bed off let me see the ladder bar setup. That's what I'm going to do to my stepside. My rear is not narrowed, but with the little meats I'm running on her she didn't have to be. 58 Ford 9 inch 3:70. Wanna a 4:11. She is a one legger for now. Keep us posted. There are a few of us Pro/Streets on here.

Go with the 4:11 gears. With the HP and torque of that BB, and bigger meats you will need it. Was that a posi 9 inch? 2,800 stall is what I use in my trans.

Well good luck, and welcome to the forum! Let me see pictures of under the hood and the roll cage inside. What size roll tubing is it?

Was the engine moved foward toward the firewall? Wheel base extended?
When you get started on that BB let me know the specs. Cam, heads, pistons, intake, etc.
Any plans for power adders? You mentioned NOS. . . 150 shot? Means you wanna taker her down the track! Go easy on the squeezins!

Still jealous of the bigger meats! Any bigger meats for me means more cutting and welding and extending my rear fenders out!

Hollar,
