6 lug 4wd 'vette style rallys....are they rare?

I have a set of 6 lug 'vette style rally wheels that fit 4wd trucks? i have them on a 68 2wd and every where i got ppl ask me where i got them or if they can buy them? i have never seen any like them around eastern Ky, so are they common and just not around eastern Ky or are they pretty rare?

Vette type of rallys in both truck 5 lug and 6 lug are strictly aftermarket. They aren't real common to see, but you can buy them from lots of places. Summit keeps them in all sizes in stock at all times.

........and what's so darn cool is that you can get them in ANY offset you want. Nice when you are trying to get a 14" wide wheel back there. ;o)

They make truck wheels in all shapes and sizes too, and I think they look a lot better.

They aren`t rare because as many as needed are still being made. Many people are not real resourceful. They just go with what`s placed in front of them. They need others like you to point them in the right direction.

Yeah, whatever caps fit the 5-lug car or truck pattern work on the 6-lugs.

I will always have a soft spot for 'vette' style rallys wheels. They just look right on our trucks!

Re: 6 lug 4wd 'vette style rallys....are they rare?

they all take the same center cap. I will say this though....I think I stumbled on the greatest find and it's super subtle. My caps are actually shorter than the factory ones. The only think I don't like about the original ones is that the stock center is too tall. I found a company that makes a slightly shorter center cap and it looks really nice. You almost have to have them side by side to see the diff. Here is a pic and it acutally makes the wheel look deeper.

Re: 6 lug 4wd 'vette style rallys....are they rare?

Yeah both 5 and 6 lug rally wheels are quite common in my area. You can also, instead of buying the short cone type, cut them yourself. I cut half of the cone off and redrilled the holes because most of them came casted with two sets of mounting shanks if you look inside the cone itself. You can pick up the cone type dirt cheap around here and in about an hour you can shorten them. I have the flat centers as well but people would steal those quite often (3 sets stolen over 20 yrs) but they don't really bother the cone type so I run those. With the flat center type (so called disc brake centers) you may have to do a little work on the spindle dust cover to get them to fit the front (hate to say it but a hammer does the trick if you take them off and don't get carried away).
