Difference between 67-71 and the 72 doors
Everywhere I look it seems that the doors get listed as 67-71 and then 72 is listed separate. So whats the difference? Is it just the way the door panels are designed and mounted ?? For example whats the difference between a 68 door and a 72 door ?? I ask this because yesterday I was looking at my truck (dreaming is more like it) and thought to myself those ugly green door panels have to go and throw on some 68 metal panels. then I start to think , would they fit on the 72 doors? should have saved the old 68 door rust panels for reference (tossed into trash). If anybody knows thanks in advance.

Re: Difference between 67-71 and the 72 doors
72 doors have a dimple under the vent window for a screw that reinforces that part of the door. 72 doors ( and at least on very late 71 I had) used the plastic door panels and will not have threaded inserts to hold the door panels on just plain holes in the sheet metal for the plastic clips. Other than that they are interchangable. You need the correct window regulators and door latch actuators depending on what year of door panels you put on them too.

Re: Difference between 67-71 and the 72 doors
The 72 doors used window and latch regulators with longer shafts to clear the molded plastic door panels, and I believe they also had air pressure relief vents. Those are the only differences I know of. I don't remember if the 72 door panels mounted with clips,or screws.
