I'm in the process of doing the filler behind the side marker thing now. Getting the hinged marker in was the easy part. Dirtdobber and I just finished fabbing up the filler tube using a filler tube from an 88 Buick Le Sabre. It will be all finished by the end of the week. It is a bit more entailed than tennman makes it out to be, as his is a 4x4 with a body lift, so he didn't have the clearance issues that us lowered 2wders have, but I am documenting the install, and will write up a full how to on the FAQ board when I am done.

i am currently in process of the job. i have my marker lite hinged and my filler neck in place. all i have to do now is cover the area in my bed side and floor. then the task of connecting the 2'' S-10 filler neck to the 1 1/4 inch tank filler. this seems like it is going to be a chore to stretch the 1 1/4 '' hose over a 2'' neck! is this goin to be possible? or is there some way to reduce the 2'' neck? any help will be helpfull.
today i installed my new inst. bezel, back w/ chrome edges, boy it is sure pretty! only prob. was when i got ready to back my truck out of my shop i had no oil pressure! guess what! oil line had broken in the process of mounting my manual choke! so i had a big mess under the hood OIL EVERYWHERE! i have come to expect these little errors with every inprovement i make. it seems with every project i do i have to fix something else that i messed up durin the job. o well! all part of the fun with working on these old trucks.
my planned paint time is still set for 2nd week in feb. during speedweek. i hope i will be ready. wish me well. good luck to all on your old trucks! mr magoo

magoo72 I haven't done this but wouldn't an exhaust pipe adapter work? 2" to 1 1/4". If there was a way to put a bead on it so the hose won't slip off?

I've seen those adaptors made of rubber at plumbing supply stores, that could be another possibility.

today i finished off the filler neck part of the job. all i got left to do is box it in on the inside of my bed.
i wound up usin the filler neck i got out of the burb where i got the tank from. just had to do a little splicing to make the curves.i used a 8 '' 1 1/4 hose from a honda accord to make the connection. it was a booger gettin it all lined up,but that part is done
i went to the gas station and filled it up and no leaks! so i guess it was a successfull project. thanks to all for all your help. mrmagoo

How well did it fill up? On mine I can't get the nozzel to the first click before it shut off automaticly. Using the 2" to 1 1/4" adapter. Maybe I don't have enough vent. I have got one , think I might have to unplug another? How many vents you got on your tank? Any suggestions, takes me about 30 min. to fill up.

no problems

the cap is low enough for easy removal. as far as filling it up ,i made sure that my hose had no kinks or any areas lower than the tank.if any areas in the routing of the hose are lower than the tank, or if it has kinks it will cause a back flow. the gravity flow must be correct or it will act as a ''p'' trap and will take a long time to fillup. not to mention the angry folks in line behind you !

I don't think the hose drops below tank. Levels out when it goes between frame and bed support. I installed a lower radiator hose spring inside the hose to prevent kink. I will retry to get the angle of the dangle right, thanks, jay

what size is the filler neck on a blazer tank? i was thinking that maybe when i do the conversion to mine i could use exaust pipe since we have a muffler shop in the place i work. is it possible? i was thinking of using a filler door and the little hump thingy out of a 73-87 bed floor to get the clearance. has anyone done this?
