So I found some retro wheels on CL!

Here they are... 15x10 Progressive's with 4" of bs. I think these will keep the truck in the 80's like it belongs. I plan on a 2/4 drop and a 295/50-15's on all fours. I got the idea from Dennis the Menace and his setup.. I like that look.. plus it ought to help me handle the corners a little better too.

Now the only problem is I ordered some budget matte black 15x10's off Ebay and it was too late to cancel.. so one of the sets will have to go. I should get those tomorrow and will post of pic of them.

Below are the ones I picked up today.. and I'm kinda leaning toward these vs the blacked out ones.

Nice wheels . I couldnt get so lucky to find the exact style wheel I am looking for at a cheap price . If you really want old school , run white letters .

They need to be "outlined" white letters. The first set of Goodyear Eagle GT tires I owned had raised "outlined" white letters. Can ya dig it....::

Those will look much better than the black wheels. Just make sure they aren't clear coated before you spray them with a cleaner.

Re: So I found some retro wheels on CL!

I've been looking non stop for the past 3 months.. and these we just posted today so I didnt waste any time driving out to get them. The guy owned a custom auto shop that specialized in trucks and these came off a 68 c15 they redid so it was cool seeing that too.

I just hope the fronts dont stick out too much.. I may need to run 5. or 1" spacers to get the rears to look right.

With those 10" wheels you might need some mudflaps...

Get at least 1" spacers, any less and you will have to cut wheel studs, or run longer studs all together.

Those and Goodyear Eagle GT's.... neither of which I can get in the size I want. It looks like its either Cooper Cobras or Futura's from Pepboys. Both are white letter..

Time to stock up on the Wesleys bleach white :P

The wheels look slick Tony. It's hard to beat a set of 15's with RWL tires.

Re: So I found some retro wheels on CL!

Those are gonna look stellar on there. I like them alot better than the black ones too. Just a warning, as I do like Coopers--I think they are a superior tire to the BFG--they run small. Their 275 is too narrow for 10"s and the 295/50 is too short.

Re: So I found some retro wheels on CL!

Hey no one's seen the black wheels yet! They came today.. I like em! They're matte black 15x10 with 4" bs. Actually I might go with these.. It fits the theme of my truck better. Since its far from a nice truck.. dinged up paint, trashed tailgate, couple rust holes in the cab.. I was going to paint the grille flat black, along with the tailgate band, paint the bumpers flat black or the body color, tint the windows and run these wheels with white letter tires. Some of a Mad Max meets Nastruck look I guess.

Actually they give the same specs on both of their sites.. 26.8 tall and 12.2 wide for the 295/50's. But I'm thinking about going with the Futuras since they look so good on Dennis' truck. Not sure what they're spec'd at.
