How does it fasten to the dash? I can see screw clips, does it fast from under the dash?

Re: Dash Pad
The Dash pad itself will have threaded studs sticking out of the back, They go thru mounting holes in the metal dash. You have to get to them from under the dash. Most of the ones I've removed have the speed nuts holding them in place. I don't remember exactly how many there are, Maybe 5 or 6 nuts that need removed. I think there are some screws in the front that need removed also. It's been awhile since I removed one.

Re: Dash Pad
As BarryB mentioned... the ones on each end of the pad are bugger bears to get at. IIRC I had to remove the glove box and the instrument panel to get at mine. It's been a long time also.
forgot.. and I beleive I had to remvoe the radio. Last edited by 68gmsee; 09-06-2009 at 06:18 PM. |

Re: Dash Pad
I just did mine. It is seven nuts under the dash starting about one inch in from the end, and four screws in the front. I had to remove the cluster, radio, and glove box to gain access. Probably spent two hours just to change the dash pad, but now I have one with no cracks!
