Question About The S10 Swaps

Hey guys, I usually hang out over at the "60-66" section, but have recently be lurking over here more and more each day. I was wondering why the "S10 Swap" is so popular. Are your trucks the perfect size forn the S10 frame? Does everything fit in or do you have to do alot of work to get them to mesh well together?

Thanks Guys! BTW All your truck builds over here are awesome!

Re: Question About The S10 Swaps

The long bed, regular cab S-10, any year is almost identical wheelbase as a half ton shortbed AD truck. Everyone has their own opinion on whether the S-10 swap or Mustang II / four link is the better way to go. But, one of the things that appeals to me about the S-10 is the fact that it's so easy to get parts. Drop spindles are everywhere for the S-10, plus later down the road when you need to do a brake job or replace a wheel bearing, etc, you won't have to try and remember what kind of parts to get, it's all S-10.
There's probably about 6 or 8 S-10 swaps going on or recently completed on this board now. Just scan these pages and you'll find them.

Re: Question About The S10 Swaps

That's the main reason why I wanted to do the swap. S10 parts are readily available. Plus I knew I was putting it on air and wanted the simplicity of bagging an s10. I had one before and it was easy to do. Getting everything to match up and fit wasn't too hard.
