slammed c20 still 3/4 ton??

i've seen a lot of bagged c20s on here but it seems like everyone converts them to 1/2 tons in the process...anybody drop their 3/4 ton and keep it that way? anyone make drop spindles for the 8 luggers? etc...thanks in advance

i have a 1965 c-20 still with 8 lug i just cut the springs and added 1/2 ton dropschocks...it is a bouncy ride if the roads are crap lol

I think you could bag the back of a c20 pretty easily. You would need to pick bags that can handle the intended loads.

I know ECE makes some drop spindles for 3/4 tons, but I'm not sure if they're actually 3/4ton as far as duty rating or if the ball joint holes are just larger so you don't have to switch all that stuff out. Also, I don't know if they'll accept 8 lug rotors or only 5 lug (or if there is a difference as far as the spindle is concerned)

I dont know about slamming it, but someone has the potential of increasing their cargo capacity by adding bags... every single semi truck is "bagged" these days... so if you get the right system in there there is no reason you couldn't work the truck all week and then take it to shows and park it in the weeds all weekend..

we covert ford F550 pickup trucks to full air ride suspension on our "low profile" units. we make a small vacuum trucks to go into underground parking garages etc with low ceailing heights. we get the truck down low enough to fit where you could take a 1/2 ton pickup, and still maintain full weight carrying capability, and no squat when loaded..

The static drop is possible I am working on one right now.. Rear axle flip and cut a coil off the front springs.. I am also doing mine without a kit because i gave up trying to locate one. The plan is simple doing it may end up being harder...

How much did you cut? I cut 1.5 coils (got me ~3") on mine and I didn't notice much of a difference to the ride up front. Out back I pulled 4 leaves and that made the back ride much smoother. And yes it's true, shorter spring have a higher spring rate if all other things are equal.
