Dash instrument question

I have a 3 lense instrument panel. I am wanting to go to a deluxe gauge one. I know that the plug in panel is different. I have an aftermarket temp. and oil gauge that I am wanting to eliminate. Would it be hard to change out my old instrument panel and get a deluxe one? If not, what all would I have to do. I tried looking this up but could not find it anywhere. Thanks

Re: Dash instrument question

I don't think it's that difficult. You just need to have the funds to buy the pieces. A new instrument cluster full of gauges can run $700. If you buy it piecemeal, I'm sure it's cheaper. Plus, you have to buy (or do your own) wiring harnesses.

Re: Dash instrument question

Would I have to change the whole wiring harness or can I just change the end that plugs in back of deluxe gauge cluster?

Re: Dash instrument question

In the link I posted it shows what wires need to be moved around in the dash cluster socket. As far as I know you can use the harness you already have.

Re: Dash instrument question

Thanks Sinister I printed it out. I think I can do it. I just wanted to be sure I didn't need to get the correct end that goes in back of the deluxe gauge panel.
