Hey everyone. I am hoping many of you will chime in here with some support and also repair advise.

I just got my 69 blazer last week. I has many great things about it that made me commit to buying it. 383, fuel injected, locker front and rear...

As the days go by I continue to learn new things about it.. when I raised it on a lift at work I found a fantastic bed floor and cab. It really is in great shape..

BUT . . today I noticed some pin holes in the upper A-pillar, yes rust. The area still seems strong, but none the less I am now very concerned I bought a nightmare.. I put a little rope caulk on the area to keep new water from getting in there.. I now know that this is a problem to look for on these models.. from what I read here..

OK guys.. help with my depression and hit me with some advise from those of you that have dealt with this issue... thanks !!

Drive it and enjoy it, as soon as you tear into it, it'll be apart for what quite often turns into "years".

Wait, learn more about rust repair and when your ready, dig in.

In reality, it could be the proverbial 'tip of the iceburge' these trucks are so well known for.

I still say drive it!

I vote for drivin' it. Check out some of the build threads, lol. I've been into mine for years now. The most I've drove it is across the yard, lol. Now we need to see some pics, post'em up.

I also agree with driving it - I have one that is drivable with rust - I am slowly working my way through the list of 'issues' until I am ready for body work - then I will try to do what I can to keep it a driver at that point as well.

Drive it til the wheels fall off then worry about fixing it. From one who has had a project going now for about 7 years.

I fixed mine all up rust repair replacement lots of money lots of time, now its painted nice and I havent washed it since done, people say wash that damn thing, but I dont care to, so i guess I should have just kept it a respectable driver like yours!!!!!

at the years and years replies. Mine's another. been fully stripped for about 2 yrs now, before that was a little work here and there for 3 years, in which I drove it maybe 10-11 months...(but it did see some good work time around the yard)before that it was 6 years as a DD!!! I fricking miss it as a DD!!

I'd definitely say drive the crap out of it and enjoy it!

hahaha.. mines been apart for 6 months and that's was just to port and polish the heads, clean some stuff up and replace a head gasket.. I just pulled the first head off 2 days ago.

Last inspected in '99, working on it since 2004, and YES it has been in the same spot. But, it does keep the mileage down and gets great gas mileage. Have not put gas in it since I bought it! So I guess that equates into gallons per year

Drive it!!!! I bought mine 72 Blazer in Oct 2001. Pulled the top off and drive it on weekends when the weather is nice. It's my poor man's convertible, and I love driving it.

Drive it. Started taking my 76 K5 apart almost 2 years ago and am still trying to get it back together. Its taking so long that I had to buy a 72 Jimmy to drive around.

keep it running dont take it apart, and dont cut into it, only 4,935 blazers were made in 69! im trying to find one, about to sell everything i have to get one!

drive it!!!!! im caught between tearing mine down for a 4link setup or jusr keeping it going to have fun with. picked up a lifted 88 to beat on in the meantime. either way im not taking it fully apart. doing little at a time to enjoy driving it for now. just want it to ride like its on a cloud. DRIVE IT!!!!!
