carb help
i have a 86 chevy k10 silverado with a 305 got 2 questions . first question is the engine has an eldobrock performer intake on it and the po had a holley 850 double pumper on it i have taken that off and cleaned the intake up and i have an eldobrock 600 cfm performer carb on it do i need the adapter plate that the po had on the intake or should i use the thin metal plate that came with carb? 2nd question how do u hook up the tv cable from a th700r4 trans to the carb?

the 800cfm was to much for that motor right?
and yes you need a tv cable on the 700r4 i cant realy help u with the rest

Edelbrock sells a bracket. Here is a link to the page. http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_...throttle.shtml
By reading Edelbrock's website, I don't think you need an adaptor. You can set the carb on the intake and open the throttle. If the throttle blades clear the manifold you should be ok.

I'm assuming the Performer carb. is a square bore, is the intake for a square bore or spread bore carb?
I'm thinking if the PO used the adapter with the Holley, which was most likely a square bore, then the intake must be for a spread bore and then yes, you would need to use the adapter.

You will not need an adapter on your Performer intake.

ok the intake is a dual bolt patteren but its a spread bore and the carb is a square flange one place says to use the thin plate that came with it and the other says i dont need anything whos right?
