Jimmy in need of some help if you dont mind

Ok not knowing too much about these i was wondering if you all had any interior pics??? I am trying to figure out what is right and what is wrong. The roll bars in this dont look right??? and the Dome light (Broken) is round?? anyways what ever you have will work.

thanks

Re: Jimmy in need of some help if you dont mind

Mine doesn't have a dome light. I think only the single wall tops had a dome light? I didn't think that was round either.

The rollbars were dealer and or aftermarket items so it "could be right". It is raining right now but I am taking mine to a show tommorow. If you give me some specific requests I'll take all the pictures you want and post them after the show!

Yes there is a single wall, more desirable and a double wall. How about some pics of your interior and I/we can answer some of your questions.

Re: Jimmy in need of some help if you dont mind

Ok here are some pics, the first question i have is how the heck do you remove the top??

Ok here is the pass. side, are these buddy seats?
I am guessing that the light is not original on the roof?
Is this the only rear bolt for the lid?
Looks like she might have leaked before PO added some caulking?? this kinda scares me not sure if i want to remove the top??
Can the lift gate be repaired or is it easier to find or buy a new one?

Thanks

Ok here is the pass. side, are these buddy seats?I don't think so. I think they are just regular buckets. Buddy buckets have a middle seat/armrest kind of thing built in. I am not the seat expert though
I am guessing that the light is not original on the roof?I don't think that is factory
Is this the only rear bolt for the lid?Well yes and no LOL. There is one of those on each side. It looks like you have the side panels in the back. You will have to remove them and you should see bolts under the bed rail going up into the top (From your pics yours does look like a double wall) Single walls bolt down from the top, single walls bolt from the bottom up. There is also one bolt that goes through each sun visor mount into the top. Then there is the screw/bolt to the left and right of the rear view mirror.
Looks like she might have leaked before PO added some caulking?? this kinda scares me not sure if i want to remove the top??I'm never putting mine back on. Sometimes they are hard to reinstall after removing depending on the condition of body mounts, rocker boxes, etc. Could even have trouble with the doors opening and closing after top removal. I am not trying to discourage you but I don't want you to have any surprises
Can the lift gate be repaired or is it easier to find or buy a new one?Fiberglass is repairable. Finding one in better shape could be tough. Every now and then someone gives a double wall top away, depending on location. I prefer a soft top. You're in luck they are being made again and the new ones look better than the best top I have.

Thanks
I hope this helps some?

Re: Jimmy in need of some help if you dont mind

Our double walled tops did not have any dome lights. There was an underdash light option. The single walled tops have the lights shown in the picture.

When I take some pics tommorow I'll try to get some of the under dash lights also.

Hey i have that option, small light drivers side that works with the doors. I would like to tie something into that and replace the big round one on the roof, i have a NOS 67 cab light that looks like yours in the pictures i might use that

Not mine, just a picture I borrowed for you. There should be two of those underdash lights. I keep a good flashlight in the console, gives me light where I need it LOL!

single wall top with dome lights. They look like the same interior dome lights from the 67-72 pick ups.

Vance, sorry I didn't take any pictures today. I had some electrical issues that I thought were a bulb and well 5 hours later?!

I'll try to get some soon!

Thealien you said they are now making fiberglass tops again? Did I understand your post correctly? If so who makes them? I need a hard top pretty bad.
