heat lever operation?

Does the heat lever in the switch assembly operate a valve behind the fire wall?

Re: heat lever operation?

I tore it all apart and the cable runs from the lever to a bracket behind the fire wall. It doesn't move anything. WTF is the purpose of the cable?

Re: heat lever operation?

The heat lever cable hooks to the temperature door which is on the outside of the firewall. The cable goes through a plastic plug to connect to the temperature door. If you pull the plug you can see the door and where the cable hooks up.

The heat lever positions the door from all air routed through the heater core or no air through the heater core. By controlling the amount of air flowing through the heater core the air temperature coming out of the heater can be controlled.

Please disregard this thread, the person who submitted it is a total dumba$$ and has figured out what a stuck flapper looks and acts like. Thank you for your time, Ironhead.
