Talking Road trip, new project, 86 Silverado

Ok guys, let me start off by saying, 15 hrs. 800 miles, and 3 states away is a long trip to pick up that next driver/project truck. As it turns out though, very much worth the drive. I posted an ad a while ago looking for a 81-87 Silverado. And lo and behold, someone on here had one for sale. (go figure)
That being said, after alot of phone conversations, countless photo's, and alot of trust on both parties behalf, a deal was struck. Needless to say, after that long of a drive, i wasn't going home with an empty trailer in tow. I dont have a name yet, but I'm sure it'll come to me. Thanks to the previous owner for the trust and honesty throughout the entire process. He is a great guy to deal with and nothing but honest in every aspect. Thanks again man. He will remain nameless unless he wants to speak up but I'm sure the truck will be recognized by someone. Well, here it is. Hope you guys dont mind me hanging around.

Pretty darn close. The P.O. did a nice job. I will likely change the headers for some from a Chevelle so they dont hang so low, and drive the wheels off it. Other than that, it is pretty close to what I would have done. I love the 91 Front clip.

Nice buy, im sure I know the previous owner aswell. If it's who I think it is you got a good deal for sure. Like Frank asked, what are the future plans?

Re: Road trip, new project, 86 Silverado

Probably drop the rear 2 more inches, little too much rake for me. 3" difference from front to rear. Replace the headers for some for a Chevelle. Charge the A/C. Scuff and paint the frame and control arms, etc... You know the routine.

I'tll get plenty of miles put on it as long as it is nice out. It wont likely see any adverse weather. I dont plan on EVER selling this one. It is as nice as the pics make it look.

Euh, it's alright. I would get rid of those wheels, and for sure lose the rear window and the rear bumper.

Buy the way, I'll be happy to help you get rid of them!

That's a really nice truck, congrats!

Are you going to finish putting on the chrome trim on the lower panels... or remove the rear strip and corners?

Re: Road trip, new project, 86 Silverado

I am not sure what is next for Bigarmzz. I'm just glad to be the new owner of this truck. He did a nice job on it. Everything is tastefully done. As far as the chrome strips, I'm not sure yet. The guy who painted it didn't do a great job sanding where the trim used to be so in the right light you can see where the trim was. I guess I'll drive it a while as is and then strip it down and have a nice paint job put back on it. The truck deserves a nice paint job, the panels are laser straight.
