Re: Which Flowmaster and pipes are running?

Series 70's here, with tail pipe exiting behind rear tire. I'm also using my original ram manifolds.

I like them, and they aren't obnoxious.

Here is Flowmasters dealio on the series 70 with a sound clip.

Re: Which Flowmaster and pipes are running?

super 44's with long tubes exiting in front of the rears with 2.5 pipes. pretty mellow at idle, loud as hell at full tilt....not a huge fan, more of a borla guy, they have a little bit too much "snap" for me... still sounds good though.

Re: Which Flowmaster and pipes are running?

I have 1 5/8" headers, 2.5" pipe with regular flowmaster 40 series dumped under the bed and it is pretty quiet. I drove the truck for the first time friday and it is very tolerable. I could drive it every day without an issue.

i had a flowmaster 40 on my '92 xcab with flowtech headers and no cat. 3in single in, 2.25" dual out. was pretty loud full throttle and throaty at idle, exiting under the rear bumper.

Re: Which Flowmaster and pipes are running?

Forego the flowmasters and look into a caddilac muffler, super SUPER quiet so ppl won't hate hearing your noisy truck pass by.

Re: Which Flowmaster and pipes are running?

in my case its on my 91 k1500 but i could have put 3" on my 71 prostreet when i had it without problems..... (my headers where tight and the PO put holes in the crossmemeber so everything was up high behind frame NOT UNDER...)

1 5/8" Hookers, 2 1/2 " pipe/H pipe, 50's flows/2 1/2 " tail pipes exit through the rear bumper.....awsome sound, not too loud cruising, but the old truck really sounds off when the hammer is down! crazyAl

Re: Which Flowmaster and pipes are running?

I run the good mufflers... You know... MAGNAFLOWS! Flowmasters just don't cut it. They don't last as long (rust-wise) and personal opinion is they don't give nearly the all around good sound that the Magnaflows do. There always seems to be a point that the flow masters give you that reverb. magnaflows never do that.
