Climate Controls
Hey guys, my mother is looking for the climate control cluster for an 04 silverado. Anybody know where to look to find the best deal on this? I've seen them on ebay for about 75.00 including shipping but I thought I'd check here to see if anyone knew where I could find a better deal.

Re: Climate Controls
I've had good luck using this junkyard locator/ inventory site. Check it out. Usually they post prices.

Re: Climate Controls
Good luck finding one. They seem to be a pretty common problem. Mine has a bulb out, but it's not worth replacing it over.

I got one from Rupperts on I-35 but they were the units w/o the rear defroster button. Last edited by highperf4x4; 09-15-2009 at 07:09 PM. |

Re: Climate Controls
Is this for replacement? Or for upgrading to the digital climate control? If upgrading, forget it, there are too many missing components other than the controls (sensors, wiring, etc) and it is definitely not worth the time. If just replacing, disregard this post.

Re: Climate Controls
Why are you replacing it is the question. If you're having door blend issues that can be resolved by "re-parking" the doors.

Re: Climate Controls
I never said anyone did, I am asking you. The door blend issue is a common one on the GMT-800 trucks. Replacing the heater controls doesn't fix it.

The truck is my mother's and it's in another state so I have no way of checking anything. All I know is that she called me because she was having trouble getting heat from the driver's side. She stated that the slider felt loose and had my uncle look at it and he said she needed a new control unit. So I rounded one up. It may be a blend door issue but I won't know until she hooks up the new unit. If that doesn't fix the problem then I'll need more info! Last edited by highperf4x4; 09-19-2009 at 12:40 AM. |

Re: Climate Controls
Ok, the new controls didn't fix the problem. Must be the blend door issue. Can anyone tell me what the common culprit is or how to get to it maybe?
