cowl hood vs regular hood!!

ok guys i need to know which you prefer and why? i am trying to decide on which i want. My project will be bagged running 22's, 69 with a 68 front clip, shaved drip rails etc, etc, just think custom. This hood thing is hard for me to decide for some reason cause they both look good. Post pics if u have them.

Re: cowl hood vs regular hood!!

imo if you are shaving everything , going smooth, why would you want a hump sticking up ?? plus they never fit right, without a lot of work, if you stand on the side and look at the hood line compared to the fender line they never seem to lay flat . you asked for opinions theres my 2 cents

If I had to choose.......they (Cowl hoods) look better on 67 @ 68's.

Re: cowl hood vs regular hood!!

Why worry about which we prefer ? Build it to suit yourself. You're the one paying the bills you might as well choose what's best for you, not us.

Re: cowl hood vs regular hood!!

i appreciate ALL of your opinions. I was leaning toward the cowl hood because i reallly like some of the more famous trucks like the fesler truck and the Haberno truck, however a smooth hood with everything shaved is very nice. The cowl in my opinion only looks good whrn the truck is very low, my truck will be low but not on the ground.

Re: cowl hood vs regular hood!!

IMO, Cowl hoods only look good on cars. I have one on my 67 Camaro. On a truck, it only accentuates the tall boxy nature of the front end. A smooth factory hood actually makes the truck look lower longer and wider from an artistic standpoint.

Re: cowl hood vs regular hood!!

I have a 67 and my dad has a 68, if you look at my profile page you'll see that i have a cowl hood and I love. But my dad doesn't think that they look just right on our trucks so he is going with stock. But it's all about personal preference. And besides, later if you decide to supercharge or something you'll have more clearance.

Re: cowl hood vs regular hood!!

Goodmark doesn`t make the hoods. They sell what others do.i only like a 3" cowl hood on a drag race inpired truck. The General done good, but cowls look right in this era since that`s when the cars had them, like 5-hole rallyes. It`s a GM thing which makes them cooler.I see them on other brands and it`s "WTF?" time.
