Here are pics of a Vintage Air Kit. I personally like this system. Have never had any problems with it.

Sam, In reference to your questions, hopefully the pics explain more than I could. The install, in fact, was pretty easy. The wiring could tend to be confusing, but the included wiring diagram with the instructions make's it all easy. Seriously, they sould rename their compmany "A/C for dummies" because they make it pretty simple to install. the Unit fits up underneath the dash pretty well. it seriously is hardly noticeable after you get it installed. The only drawback to this system is the supplied glovebox is only about 2-3 inches deep due to the unit being in the original glovebox space, but it still holds more than you'd think.

That looks good! What did you use to cut the dash with? That is the kind of system that I was asking you about. So there is nothing hanging down from the dash huh? That is ok about the glove box, I have a set of seats in my truck now that has a compartment in them that I store most of my stuff in any ways. Thanks alot for provideding me with the pictures. One more for you, what did you do with the plastic box that used to be under the hood? I see it is smooth right there where the box used to be

Sorry, I was going to tell you that, just forgot! The holes are cut with a hole saw on the sides, and whatever you can find for the center...I think we used a jig saw with a metal blade. The templates for the cuts are included in the instructions. As far as the plastic piece that originally covered the firewall, I think we've still got it. It's lying around down in the shop somewhere. The great thing about the kit is it uses mostly pre-existing holes in the firewall and dash to mount it. the only drilling was the holes for the vents. As far as defroster ducts, the original holes are used for that.

Looks great! Does it relocate the heater core to inside the cab? What's the ballpark price on the whole setup?

Is that the SURE FIT KIT I talked with a dealer this weekend about a SURE FIT KIT and he says 995.00 and you dont do any cutting and you can use your reg. heater controls does this sound right? Where did you buy yours at?

Yeah, sure enough, it's the sure fit kit. I think 995.00 is exactly what we paid.

As far as the heater core, yes, it's moved inside. Let me tell ya, it's works pretty darn good! Like I said before, I'm seriously glad we went with this system, and I personally think it's a great purchase for anyone that's thinking of adding A/C to a non-A/C truck.

BIG ORANGE,

The only cutting you have to do is for the vents since the original dash won't have holes. And, yes, the original heater controls are used. It really makes life simple. I once said, "VINTAGE AIR = A/C FOR DUMMIES"!
