Need some help picking out some nice headers
Okay so since I am sixteen and stupid even though I know better I have been muddin this truck with rotten headers... Well finally caught up to me about 3 weeks ago and haven't driven it since. Been doin some extra work to get some more cash flow. So i'm wondering, what type of headers, probably some nice torquey ones maybe a little bit of horse's don't really need the power it's fast enough to get me in trouble already so here are the specs. Got a 73 k10 with a 350 aluminum heads, aluminum intake, 411 gears, holley 670 Carb, spacer, very mild cam. lookin for the cheaper side since mud destroys everything exhaust seems to be what goes first though. Any help? Thank you in advance

Re: Need some help picking out some nice headers
I would just look for a cheap used set on Craiglist since you will coat them with mud over and over. (ah to me 16 again.............) Should be able to pick up a set for $25 or so.

Re: Need some help picking out some nice headers
Not trying to start the old debate, but...
In your situation; Don't need the extra ponies. Caking them with mud whenever possible. I'd say some ramhorns would be a worthy swap. In my humble opinion if you clean them up and paint them they look pretty nice and they would stand up to corrosion effects much better...

Re: Need some help picking out some nice headers
Now no offense or anything but i don't want to decrease power I mean a little bit of course is nice but I just want a good pair of headers, something I could beat on and take a punding I know manifold would probably be the best but I still love the option of running straight headers. Like at my high school car show.... Making people piss their pants when I started and or revved it... fun times

Re: Need some help picking out some nice headers
Don't cheap out. I got a set of flowtech headers off craigslist for 100 bucks..Just didnt fit well at all on the passenger side. Almost sits right on top of the driveshaft. Headman 69230 is the part number you want. Theyre about $172 (just got a set last week for my 70 K20) and get good heat paint on em and your good. I got a set of flowtech headers and they didnt fit all that great. They hit the PS side shackle bolt and were lower than the headman. You might want to clearance the upper part of the frame on the passenger side by cylinder 3 I think. The tubes get pretty close to it!

Re: Need some help picking out some nice headers
Ya get the Hedmens!
They work great, in time you may get some warping. Mine did after about 2yrs I think, then I bought Hedmen Elite nickelcoated with thick flanges so no more warping but they are about 350 or so... ![]() ![]()
