Line Mtn 7-Miler`09

Another Mason-Dixon experience for olblue60 and special-K.I think duallyjams either had the swine flu or couldn`t find his hat to hide the peck marks or something like that () cuz I know he would have been there if he could have.I missed the local news so it may have been a tidal wave took out his water side fishing village.I hope he`s ok,I truly am concerned. We had a hard time deciding what beer to buy without him and were unable to have quite the dining experience on the ride home we had the year before.
We followed the old Susquehanna trail up river and hoped on the deuce and a quarter (PA225) up through Halifax to Dornsife.Lemme tell ya,Troy`s got some trucks in his field of dreams.Enough blabbin`,it`s time for pictures.

First order of the day is to establish a base camp:

You can`t run a race without a hauler/motel:

Take a last look at the prestine sheetmetal on the K/5 (there oughta be a law):

You can`t keep a rig on the trail long without sponsors, even if it is only moral support.(yeah right, like Randy needs moral support):

Seeya back at base camp.Hang on Jeff...happy trails to you:

They say beauty`s only skin deep...I dunno.Take a close look at this beauty and she starts looking even better inside.at least she don`t lie.she`s an honest to goodness hard core trail rig at the least. This ain`t your mother`s SUV:

CST interior:

Now safety is paramount with this racing club,as well as dust control. So,tough and reliable equipment is a necessity. No skimping here:

Can you believe it?I think it`s a Cheyenne Super:

Dang! That`s a short one:

We`re racing now! This poor old-timer got caught up in the race trying to get back to his still:

It takes all kinds from economic Samurais to Komakozis:

Re: Line Mtn 7-Miler`09

As you all know Pennsyltucky has a large amount of Amish folk from way back.We saw a few buggies runnin`the roads on the way up.i think they can take credit for the recent no chrome trend with auto makers.
Here`s some buggies:

ROCK`n`ROLL!

These poor folks had to deal with this rowdy race through their front yard.Matter of fact, the racers used their driveway to hit second gear and let it rip!

Re: Line Mtn 7-Miler`09

NASA even uses this race to test their terrestrial surface vehicles. It`s back to the drawing board for this one.It made it about a mile before losing rear steering. These guys are just astronauts and weren`t trained to disable rear steer and lock it straight. So no mo`racing for them.It definately isn`t a race you can buy your way into:

By coincidence,NASA vehicle #2 only went as far as #1...one on the left and one on the right.it`s sad:

I`m not sure why the National Guard was on patrol:

This guy`s money was well spent. But it`s years of trial and error that served him best:

That ain`t no IFS:

It`s a Jeep thing.I don`t understand:

Credit is due to Sleeping John for being the good (paying) sponsor that he is.The`Cuda musta woke up when he had a dream about a rolled Blazer.I`d want a drink, too:

Honestly,I had planned to put out big bucks for sponsorship. But,my God!Ya had to go slop mud all over my good name!

Were your ears burnin`? I took those videos you,Jams.Oh,and Mike,too (I guess)
Nothing changed, same mud, same rocks, same dust, same lady at Beer Plus in Halifax...different beer and we ate at Hoss`s in Gettysburg, that`s all.Are we still building that rig for the 40th?John said he`d sponsor us.I guess we have to haul msgross with us next year.I knew there was a reason I shouldn`t have posted this.

Randy,if I buy ten rolls of duct tape what size sign can I get?Oh,and where?Like not under the truck? How about the right side in case there are aerial photographs?...I`m shutting up now.

I have more videos to post, but I`m waiting to see more responses.Until then...SUFFER!!!!

Looks like a lot of fun. Only three hours from the house, so maybe next year I'll have to plan on heading down with you guys, assuming that the blazer is drivable (I don't see anywhere in the pictures that my acura would make it.)

We had to add some extra buttons to Oldblu60`s Tahoe.
It`s all good roads to the track and a little dirt to park if you`re watching.then be ready or some bushwacking on foot.It was a very healthy day.

It "is" fun to see the the first-timers who bring their big bucks out just to learn there`s way more too it.the narrower the better.Randy does well with his Q78s (I think they are),tall skinnies for sure. The only mud you don`t have momentum on has rocks under it.The Blazer is a bit wide for whippin`around the trees, but he`s been working on narrowing it,as seen in the pictures .Last year there was a trophy Series truck that came out and failed seriously. This ain`t no open coarse for long travel ultra wide track.Busted steering knuckles are common along with shocks and shock mounts. It`s fun to see the rigs running with suspension hanging out the bottom, running on a rim,and just parts hanging off here and there. The designs vary as much as type of vehicle.some guys have all out race motors, but alot run junkyard motors that aren`t hittin`on all cylinders.Carb floats are put to the test as well as ignitions.
This race is run with a co-pilot.All rigs must have a solid top.Horns/air blasters/alarms are use when coming up on a slower vehicle. The slower vehicle pulls over even if that means running over small trees. You break and they may push you off the track...with the truck.alternate pass lanes get created and some bad spots end up with trails alternate trails.
IT IS TOTALLY WILD!!!

Last one.what is it???
