window regulator

So I picked up my drivers side door a couple weeks ago, only to find out the window will only roll up half way then I hear a grinding sound. It can't get it to roll all the way down now either.

Do you think the motor is shot? Gear stripped? How hard is it to swap? My old door has good power windows, so I will just remove that motor if needed.

Re: window regulator

Quick fix just remove the entire unit from the old door and replace. The gears are probably shot in the new door.

Re: window regulator

Yeah, just drill out the rivets and swap the entire assembly.
