Yeah, I thought it was cool too so I did it. I'm such a follower.

I did mine in Macromedia Fireworks. Just learned something new.

*Edit*
It's called an animated GIF and there are other animated GIF generators (like Fireworks) that are out there.

You can try this one ---> http://download.com.com/3000-2186-70...ml?tag=lst-0-2

It's free to try but not sure how easy it is to use. It's a 30-day trial

I use Ulead Gif animator. I had to play with it for awhile to get all the pictures to fit in the small file size. 3 pictures is pretty easy its when you try to add the 4th were it gets close. You can find them for free. Ill see if I can email you the one I have. Or you can email me some pictures and Ill do it for you. either way

Jeff I used Unfreez from Downloads.com very easy to use. Click and drag. Took about a mnute in dial up to download. Only thing is the pics have to be GIF file format.

With Ulead Gif Animator you can use .gif or .jpeg or .jpg or .avi and a few others I believe. The final product will always be a .gif, because its an animated .gif.

I had created an animated GIF for my avatar over at the "other board." I'm not eligible for one here, yet. It was fun, but I decided not to use it. An animated GIF is several pictures together, so it increases the file size. It takes longer to load the pages when people use them. I decided to go easy on the guys on dialup by limiting the size of my avatar.

Avatards on this forum are limited to 25kb. So it really doesnt make a difference on this site. Thats why it was difficult to have 4 pictures in that small amount of file size.

Really, it shouldn't matter to anyone who is on dialup about the avatars since we have the option of not showing them. We also have a option of not showing sigs, if we choose.

I'm on dial up and no problems with this site's avatars. Now on the other forums that have pics in Sigs that's as slow as old people having sex.

I didnt really start it, but I like the idea. Im glad to see more people already doing it. It gives you a good reminder of their truck, you dont have to always check their web site to say ohhh yeah I remember now
