Sources for Quality Parts and Service - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

New to the 67-72 arena and am looking for reliable sources for quality parts and service, not looking for the inexpensive, flimsy, wears out in a week, fits poorly, doesn't look right, etc. types of parts that are so prevalent in the aftermarket. I prefer quality over price and service over quick delivery time. Any suggestions of either site supporters or otherwise. Please base your responses on your personal experiences if you will please. Thanks in advance for your responses.

The problem is that most suppliers get their parts for the same sources. There are some items that you have no choice. Trim parts and interior parts some examples. It used to be that you could go to a dealership and buy these kind of parts with the good old GM logo on the box but those days are gone forever. Suspension and engine parts are different. For engine parts I have found Summit to have quality stuff. For suspension, steering and brake parts I've had pretty good luck with NAPA. I'm sure there are many others out there who sell better quality stuff but for a higher price.

There are more great Vendors to select from and I am sure others will chime in. I will normally suppport only Vendors who support this forum.

there are loads of the mechanical parts for these trucks available at local autoparts stores with no need to pay or wait for things to be shipped//brakes steering suspension etc.

A lot of the mechanical and suspension parts can be bought at local parts stores if you can find the right person to help you.

We buy parts trucks and use as many original parts as we can and what we can't get that way we now order from board vendors.

At one time we had a local guy that we got a lot of new and used parts from but he has closed his business, that was S&S Classics. We got parts from him because he knew these old trucks and we could look at the parts before we bought them.

Also the there is a section on this forum where board members sell new and used parts.
