Oil near intake bolt cracked intake?

I have been watching this for awhile now and I clean it before each trip. I have changed the valve cover gasket and used permatex. There is no way it is leaking so now I figure I have a cracked intake manifold. I have checked the bolt and it is tight. How serious is this and can I continue to drive it until I have the money to do new heads and intake? I did drive for about 7 hours through the mountains yesterday and that was all the oil that I found.

Re: Oil near intake bolt cracked intake?

probable cause is improper assembly// those intake bolts require thread sealer to prevent those oil leaks// lots of guys try using sillycone and it doesnt work well like teflon based thread sealer

Mine does the same thing, only on the other side. I was gonna try some thread sealer also.

Re: Oil near intake bolt cracked intake?

I used loctite on my aluminum intake manifold fasteners to keep them leak free and tight under expansion and contraction of the manifold.
