I don't know what these are called. The pieces that the rear end U-bolts bolt through and have the lower shock mount holes. I started cleaning up the rear end parts on my Panel, and I noticed that the holes for the lower shock mounts were really egg shaped. I have a couple others floating around here somewhere, but my question is: Are there better ways to do this, I mean, a reinforcment mod or something?

And if it turns out that the other ones I have are bad also, are there re-pops available? Can new ones be bought?

It's a common problem when the shocks aren't checked periodically for tightness (the holes get wallowed out). You can weld some washers to each side of the opening for a new/thicker hole or new brackets are available from the aftermarket (shock relocating kits).

If you are referring to the lower shock plate, yes they are available by LMC and others. Mine are the same as yours, been through a few years of loose shocks.. I thought about repairing the old, but these are priced fairly cheap.

I cut a piece of pipe about 1/2" long made the hole bigger and welded in the pipe

Thanks, all. Some good ideas, for sure. I wonder if the LMC ones are any good. The price does seem right. I'll have to dig out the spares I have and see if they are any better before I make a decision.

Well, yes and no. I havn't found the rear end I want yet, so I'm going to stick my existing in place just for temporary so the thing will at least be on 4 wheels so I can push it around, and for mock-up purposes. I lowered the front 2 1/2", but I haven't really decided yet if I want it to sit level, or keep more of a stock 'raked' look. I don't mind the thoughts of lowering blocks, and I haven't ruled out bags at all.

i got the shock relocator kit from cpp, just put them on my frame last friday. they were at a relitivel good price and came w/ all the bolts, nuts, and washers to do the install. i paired them up w/ 4" drop coils and nitro drop shocks it all went together very well. the replacement brackets are made of very thick steel as well, i was suprised @ the quality for the cost, dont know how they hold up yet will be a month ir so before i finish my frame off.

Get the 'rear-shock relocation bracket kit' from ECE. Problem solved on the worn lower bracket & you gain shock travel lost when lowering w/dropped springs or bags (lowering blocks don't impact shock travel in this configuration).

i got the LMC one's , they don't look exactly like original [ japan made ]i still didn't use them yet but they sure look like they'll work
