14 bolt SF in a C-10?
I am looking for options as to making 5 bolt rims fit a 14bolt SF. I have found conversion kits to use 6 bolt rims, has anyone had luck machining down the axle to make the 5 bolt rims work?
Why bother... well its available...why not a 12 bolt...eh.. who knows Any thoughts? btw This is for my 79 C-10 Big 10

IDK about the down to 5 lug conversion, but how much is it for the 6 lug conversion? It would make my finding wheels and tires a bit easier than 16" 8 lugs.

I did find that summit has axle shafts that are 6 bolt for $85-100, depending on length and splines. I'm kinda thinking of using those axles from summit and get a pair of 6 bolt wheels from summit. ( I run vette ralley's anyways so that would work ) A pair of axles and pair of rims would run me like $375. Just not sure what I'd do about rear brakes...

I don't know about after market but the 454SSs came factory with SF14 bolt and 5 on 5 bolt pattern. Maybe that will help you.

I had heard that, and I hear they put 14 bolts in some older limo's. Heard that from some Demo guys. I'd like to lay my eye's on a 454SS rear end..

Re: 14 bolt SF in a C-10?
I ended up buying a 14 bolt from a 89 C2500. It is 1/2" wider over all than my 12 bolt. I plan to cut the pads off and weld up new perches. Since I run vette style rally's on my C-10 I plan to buy a pair of 6 bolt rally's from summit. Seems like the best solution.
