ventilation hoses
I need to replace all of the ventilation hose in the cab of my '70 c10. It sat in my dad's shed for two years while not being used and the mice decided it would make a pretty good hotel. As you can imagine the stench was pretty bad. Now everything is cleaned out except all the hoses fell apart when I took them out. I'm looking at the LMC set - they seem pretty reasonable. Anyone done this and can you give me any tips on what to do or not do?

Re: ventilation hoses
If you don't have AC it is pretty straight forward. I always tape the ends on the dash fittings with electrical tape.

Re: ventilation hoses
Well it does have AC. The big problem is the hose from the plenum that goes all the way across the steering whell to the driver side vent. I'd really like to get this done before it gets too cold up here. I'll be storing it for the real winter but I have a few uses for it before then.

Re: ventilation hoses
Any of the BB vendors can supply the hoses. They are a pain to get to but fairly easy to install otherwise.

Re: ventilation hoses
AC is a different story!
It will help to pull the dash and the glove box. Not sure how anyone else does it but I blocked the driver's side hose fitting and only installed the passenger side hose to the remaining fitting. It gives the driver more air and it frees up some space. It does cause the passenger side to lose airflow, though. Jim

Re: ventilation hoses
Do you have a good resource for pulling the dash? I was hoping that I wouldn't have to do major reconstruction.

Re: ventilation hoses
The dash is pretty simple - seems like I do it once a month...It now takes me 5-10 mins to pull the dash.

Re: ventilation hoses
Oh, you mean like the instrument cluster. I thought you were maybe talking about a big chunk of metal or something.
