Re: '72 front disk brake pad ?

um that shouldnt be happening, sounds like you have a caliper issue, with possibly the slide bolts. that pad shouldnt move at all. do you have all the hardware in the caliper?

Re: '72 front disk brake pad ?

If you are saying the pad moves up & down in the caliper, that means the tabs aren't bent tight enough. It is hard to bend/ beat/ squeeze them tight enough while on the caliper. Take them off, bend them a little "too tight" and squeeze them on with a C clamp. That will give them a snug fit. Also make sure that the inner pad ahas the spring tension clip on it, that snaps into the piston.

Re: '72 front disk brake pad ?

To get the caliper off, pry with a big screwdriver or small prybar. To compress the piston with it off... a c- clamp or c- clamp Vise Grip.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all of your help, i took off both calipers and bent the tabs to tighten the pads on the calipers to keep the pads from moving and it worked perfect, they don't move at all anymore. Thanks again . Dave
