Re: In-bed spare tire carriers

Jaros,

these were in trucks, I am not sure if blazers are the same or not.

The black one has the button head bolts welded on the bottom.

So then the top would bolt to the bed side?

Re: In-bed spare tire carriers

Yes sir, the top bolts to the lip of the bedside... I use to have a closeup of one installed, let me see if i can locate....

I borrowed a pic of chipflyers bed to show the mounting location:

Yes, they were a factory option. P13 - SIDE MOUNTED SPARE. It shows the proper mounting location in the Assembly manual also.

I also borrowed a pic of 673ontree pic that shows the spare mounted

Do you have the hardware that attaches the tire to the mount?

Dasani, unfortunately i do not have the hardware, If you look at the thread below starting with Post 17 you will see details of the bolt that was on a NOS inbed tire carrier i have, but did not have the oversized washer and wingnut/nut . Alot of people are just using a carriage bolt with an oversized washer and nut to mount the spare... I have seen the bolt on ebay as a NOS item but i have never seen the complete hardware set...

Re: In-bed spare tire carriers

Unfortunately, it won't fit where I thought it would. 33" tire has to mount...Great price, but can't use it. Thanks for you're time

Arrow Re: In-bed spare tire carriers

I used a camaro spare tire J-bolt and wing nut to mount my spare in the 67 picuted above , I have that same mount he has listed for sale , bolt's right up and work's great ,,,,,

any 70's GM car spare tire bolt and nut will work , easier to find than an original 67 to 72 truck factory bolt ,,,
