Dang it!
I pulled the '90 bench seat out of the shed to get it recovered for the '68 today. Stupid mice got to it- completely hollowed out the foam in the center of the back. It was a solid one too. I sold a nice '69 bench I had, and I hate the car bench that is in it now. I guess I'll try a pair of milk crates.
Dang it anyway

Dont write off that seat just yet! Your local upholstery dude can patch that no problem. He has all kinds of glues, foams & electric knives that will fix it right quick.

I'll get a pic tomorrow and see what you guys think. I don't want to spend much on it if it won't hold up- and I only paid $40 for it. I don't want no saggy, lumpy seat... that's what the truck has now, and it doesn't conform to my sags & lumps too well

One small hole in the back. Stained terribly everywhere- I think the PO must of had a few dozen cases of pop explode on it, which I wasn't concerned with since I want to redo it to at least look somewhat OE to the '68. I have '99 seats in my '72, which I really like to sit in, but don't really like the "newer seat in an old truck" look. But I hate how the old benches sit & ride.
I'm just picky, cheap and on a tight budget!

that's a difficult combination!If you're going to have it recovered they will probably fix that foam for very little extra. Just check and see. |
