If people are paying 1000 bucks for truck brackets, I need to find some to sell!

If the motor is that good (and nothing has been done yet to the cylinders/crank) and it's got all the original brackets (except for the smog I'm assuming?) I'd give about 1200 for the whole setup.

motor and a/c brackets probably in the 800 range if it runs smooth with no noticable issues

One thing to keep in mind is that the big block brackets are harder to come by than the small block stuff. And a good running big block is definitely worth more than a good running small block.

Re: whats and orig. good running 402 bb going for these days?

i am just looking at it thinking of doing some trading on it . a guy that lives near by has offered him $1500.00 for the eng. & power steering & alt brackets no a/c parts if he would part it out. so i was just checking to see about what i could part it out for if i got it.

I think that's pretty close for what you're talking about.

Re: whats and orig. good running 402 bb going for these days?

parting it out with no a/c brackets I would think would yield 300(if p/s works good with no noise) for p/s set up, 150-200 for alt brackets, and 700-800 for big block. This is in my area so pricing may be different for you. I would think 1300 if you could get optimal prices for everything. The p/s set up I would sell on ebay under chevelle/camaro parts.
