Where are people getting these white faced gauge clusters that are the same as factory?

Re: White faced gauge clusters....where top get them?
I got mine from ebay. There's a guy that's rebuilding them and installing the white vinyl on the gauges and it comes with a new bezel and your choice of color for the dash lights. Less than 200.00 w/o tach. They're not actually the same as factory though. The markings as far as the numbers on the speedo etc are actually on the lense with the factory gauge and they're kind of a light green color. With the white vinyl you need black numbers so they're printed directly on the vinyl and the new lense is clear. The only thing I've noticed is that at night time, the numbers on the speedo are not as easy to see since they don't glow anymore. However, I can still see them good enough and 50mph is always straight up anyway!
If you get one tell him highperf4x4 sent ya! Last edited by highperf4x4; 10-05-2009 at 11:50 PM. |

Re: White faced gauge clusters....where top get them?
You want to be very careful if you do it yourself. You can throw off the fuel gauge taking the needle off if you're not careful. Look at my first pic and you'll see that the needle for the fuel gauges are in the same spot and the gauge is reading correct now that it's in the truck. Same goes for the temp gauge.
Besides going through the gauges, this guy also paints the inside of the gauge panel white everywhere he can so that it throws more light. When you open your gauge panel up you'll notice that it's all green on the inside. Last edited by highperf4x4; 10-06-2009 at 01:09 AM. |

Hey HiPerf, do you have more info on the eBay guy? Like, say, his name?

Yeah it's Edd Dial
How about a direct link? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RESTO...Q5fAccessories His phone number is in the ad if you want to call him first. This is a really cool guy. He's retired and rebuilding these gauge panels is all he does. He did such an awesome job on mine that I'd like to send him some more business. Last edited by highperf4x4; 10-06-2009 at 06:26 PM. |

One more thing, I noticed your dash has the wood face on it. Did you add that, and if so, is it sticking to the bezel pretty well? Did you get the wood for the glove box, and where did you get it?
Thanks! |

Re: White faced gauge clusters....where top get them?
I think I ordered the woodrgain stuff from LMC. It was either them or ClassicParts. I'll have to look and get back to you. If you're going to put woodgrain on the dash, get the solid chrome bezel not the black one.
As for adhesion, it seems to stick very well. |
