Moving auto trans shifter lever to floor?

After going to Goodguys this weekend I have decided I want to move my auto shifter to the floor. I have some idea where to start but would like anyone to chime in on their own experiences good or bad with this. Things like hardware recomendations or kits or even if there is a do it your self "resession" method.

I want it a little high but not too tall. Post pics to if you got'm

Thanks in advance.

x2 on lokar since you want it tall, that leaves out the B&M style shifters. i know genie makes one as well.....

Re: Moving auto trans shifter lever to floor?

most are cable driven so mounting is pretty easy and I'm sure everyone mounts a bit different.....but why woud you in the first place...on the col keeps the floor clean

Andy, I have used Lokar shifters in the past. They are very well made. No cables involved. They mount to the transmission itself.

lokar does now make a floor mount one that i think uses a cable i haven't used the new type only used the tranny mount with rods// anything i've ever gotten from them is top quality

We sell both the shifters, cable and linkage type. The linkage type takes up less room on top of the trans. I am not sure how well the cable type will fit. I have never installed one on these trucks but it has a larger bracket on top.

The ATS350BM shifter is $239.00
The Nostalgia shifter AST6350BN is $250.00
From us, for example plus shipping Jegs is like $4.00 less on the Nostalgia but we are less on the ATS350bm

If interested I can get the prices on the 200R but I don't have the price sheets on hand. We sell just about everything at less or the Same Price as Jeg's or Summit.
Not really trying to sell you anything just letting you know that we do

a 2004R is better suited for a floor mount shifter because the tranny mount one is not so sturdy due to the lack of a tailshaft on the tranny

Re: Moving auto trans shifter lever to floor?

I'm planning to use one of these when I convert the burb over to a 700r4: http://www.lokar.com/product-descrip...ia-shifter.htm
Should look almost stock when I'm done.

I am looking in to the Genie because of the Shift knob options.

Here's mine. It's a Lokar that mounts on the floor and it's linkage operated. Very nice shifter, I fully recommend it.

I wondered the same thing. It looks like the Lokar and the Gennie both bolt to the tailshaft cover bolts on the 700r4. But, in a 4wd, that's where the tcase adapter bolts up. Anyone?

Looks good. Don;t they offer an 28"? The 28 may be too high.
