It looks like a toy in those pictures. Someone put a lot of work into it, although I still don't understand making a blazer in to a pickup.

I agree, to me it looks stupid. Guess someone with a flair for different would like it but to me if only they or a select few admire it or think it's cool, it's like the idiot stick who has an eclipse with a stock car and bumble bee muffler on it, no one is impressed but them.

Re: One to watch for on Barrett Jackson Saturday

Some how the dimensions don't look right in the this pic, did they shorten it maybe?

Doesn't look right to me, fenders look 'off' too.

I'm glad you said (or wrote) something about that because I thought it was just me.

The bottoms of the fenderwells are cut to allow for more tire clearance. I can't see that thing bringing the big bucks.

Looks like a camaro front bumper. Hmmmm doesn't look bad. I also thought the proportions were off. My guess is that the rear wheel well (arch) has been enlarged.

Re: One to watch for on Barrett Jackson Saturday

I'm wondering if they "bobbed" the rear. It looks like the rear of the bed may be narrower then behind the cab. Sort of like there is an angle from front to rear. I could just my eyes though.

Dunno, sounds high to me...must be some sort of bidding fever going on, just don't see 40K in that one.

What's so special about it?

Premium builder? Custom mods?

Re: One to watch for on Barrett Jackson Saturday

Try and build it for 40K. hah

Seriously though guys... if you tried to build it for that, youd be shy 20 grand. Also, the people who go to buy at these things have money, and dont want to wait or get their hands dirty.

Wow! I was thinking that it might go for as high as $25K with the typical bidder frenzy. I can't believe it went for over $40K.

Until this last week, I would have thought the same thing. You have to remember that not everyone does there own work. If you have to pay someone to get it done, the price adds up quickly. I dropped by a local shop that has turned into a custom hot rod shop. They get $75 an hour, with some of their paint jobs running $25,000 or more. So, with the cab being installed and the box shortened, it might have cost more then we think. The other thing is that we don't know what the interior is like. It may be some high end custom job also. I agree with you though, even with having someone do the work, the rest of the Blazer is not that special. The motor is a plain SBC and the rest of the drive train being stock type parts. Certainly not a $40,000 rig to me either.

I agree, I should of put it "easily built for 40K doing the work yourself"

It it what it is and all our blazer just got a shot in the right direction.
