Photoshop Help please
Looking for someone to help me out with some photoshop paint.
I am thinking about going flat black over the stock red and top of the bed rail. Has any used flat black as a final color? How do you think it would look with cleared light grey that looks white? Or maybe a dark grey over the red with a clear. Looking for a cheaper way than red. ![]()

Re: Photoshop Help please
This is just my opinion but it is based on my plan that is on-going with my '69. The same prep work that goes into the flat finish is what goes into a glossy finish. If you ever intend to sell it, a flat finish will probably limit your market. But, black as an upper "color" will give a visual effect of lowering your truck. Where the natural body break is in the upper body is the supposedly ideal place to do the upper/lower deviation. Tinting the windows a dark shade will enhance that lowering effect.
As for the grey choice for the lower part of the body, my choice would be silver or platinum grey. Same basic tinting but more zing for very little money difference. With some dark or black center wheels with a polished lip and a soft tonneau, I'd be done. But, it's your truck and your dream. I am not accomplished-enough with Photoshop to do what you want. Hopefully, someone else will be able to help.

Re: Photoshop Help please
ChevLoRay .. as always your the first to help out. Thanks.
I am keeping the lighter color on th etruck now as its new paint. The red needs redone as there are some noticeable chips and fading. I am not a fan of Red for multiple reasons main being the cost ! So I am thinking about a color up top were the facotory break is to change it up and that a novice painter can shoot. I did the light grey as I am told lighter the color the less you can see issues. So Thepaint would be no metalic. I really am leaning towards a dark grey. Its 4x4 so im not looking to lower it, if anything Ill go up a few inches.I also like a dark bronze color but fear it may be hard to paint myself. I also ca not tint the side windows as the laws in PA will not allow tint on sides. I will be tinting the back to a 35%.

Re: Photoshop Help please
A dark grey that would mimick the tint on the windows and taken all the way around the bed following the body break, would do the same as the black that I wrote about, as long as the grey is dark enough. The trick is to fool the eye of the beholder into seeing the truck as visually cohesive. Even if you raise it up, it'll look good.
As to the cost of red paint, I had a '67 Firebird Sprint that I had repainted in '65 Corvette Rally Red....back in '82. I think I paid $100 for a gallon of Synthol enamel, from NAPA.
