'55 2nd series carb question...
Ok, stupid question here. I've got a '55 2nd series with the 235 and three on the tree. In the shop manual it says all manual tranny 1/2 tons have a GM Model "B" downdraft carb. In the parts store websites, they list carb kits for a Rochester B/C and a Carter YF. I want to assume the GM Model "B" downdraft is a Rochester. Is that correct?
Long story short, I want to rebuild the carb and want to get the right kit. Thanks for the help and thanks for this great forum.

Link to a carter yf page http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/Carbs/Carter/YF/index.htm
Rochester b/c link. http://www.carburetor.ca/carbs/tech/...r/B-index.html After looking at those it should be pretty simple. No doubt the tag is missing of the carb (triangular shaped tag with stamped number) so it will take a bit more homework. |

Re: '55 2nd series carb question...
Ok, so further reading of the shop manual says Rochester B/C is for auto tranny trucks and it has the automatic choke. My truck is a manual tranny truck with manual choke cable with a knob in the cab. Here's a link to the page in the manual...
