Fall colors from the Dragon and Cherholla

Well, the wifey and I went with some firends from church down to the dragon yesterday to catch some fall foliage. Afterward, we went on over to the Cherholla Skyway on NC State Hwy 143. This is a great drive, especially in the fall if you can ever make it.

Here's some shots we took. You can see the rest here

On the Dragon.

A photo op at The Tail of The Dragon store in NC. The three motorcycles on the ramp belong to our friends that were with us.

Group shot! I'm in the green shirt, Luke in the black and red jacket, my buddy and childhood neighbor Darrell in the blue jacket. The short on eon the end is Luke's dad, Tony.

Their bikes.

Tag alongs........

About halfway up the Cherholla.

Re: Fall colors from the Dragon and Cherholla

These came out a bit blurry for some reason. I gotta work on that.

Why it's called a "skyway"

And finally, us driving off into the sunset.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing!

We love the Smokies, only wish they weren't 11hrs away or we'd bring the '69.

Maybe some day...

You guys up north are lucky(at least until it gets cold). The only color change we get around here is brown and tan. Mud and dust. I miss trees!

Nice bunch of pictures.Did you get sideways in the switchbacks?
Those are some of the best roads in the country right there.

Re: Fall colors from the Dragon and Cherholla

Tim, no sideways action in the twisties. 2 reasons: not posi and the wife was with me. I would start to get on it and have some fun and she'd start fussin. One of these days, I'd like to hit it by myself and see how the truck does if I actually push it.
