Hi everyone, been using my 'burb everyday since i got it (couple of hundred miles a week !) and now it's coming off the road for the winter to do some work on it,
Does anyone do a headlining kit for a '69 burb ? also need the bars or whatever holds it in place,
I'm taking the vinyl roof off (Uh oh !) cos water comes in (Bigger UH OH!) ,
going to start making the new top tail gate too, I'll take lots of pics

Welcome!

No one makes the hard board head liner (yet anyway).
Although there is a fabric version out there that is being sold, but it just doesn't look right when installed to me any ways.

The bows, you are just going to have to find a guy parting out a burb, since those are not reproduced either. Nor is the chromed plastic strips that clip onto the bows.

I am working on making my own head liner boards out of thin panelling you can get at a lumber store, making the card board templates are a pain so make sure you have plenty of patience!

rod doors makes a headliner. I don't think they utilize the crome/plastic trim. I'm thinking it was around $600. I used plastic sheets with 1/4 high density foam topped with 1/4 soft foam coved with a Softhide imitation leather. pics upcoming when I'm done. I'm trying to track down some flex steel (tensile steel, tempered steel, about 1/16" thick , 1" wide everyone has a different name for the steel) I'll wrap the steel with leather and upholstry scew them to the bows. $250 so far.

Has anyone got any good pics of the headlining bows for reference ? i might cut some out of stainless with the plasma cutter and polish them,

I don't know for sure but I have heard that Jim Carter Truck Parts has the headliners for the 47-54 suburbans so they might have them for the 67-72's. I haven't started researching to find that part yet but if I find something out I will let you know.

this maybe a stupid question, but how did the cooled air get to the trucks with ceiling vents like that? i've seen pictures of another rear ac that had a tunnel down the center of the whole ceiling but i just dont understand how it got up there. my burb had factory ac but only in front.

2 AC hoses run from the engine compartment, under the pass side, crosses over to the driver's side under the chassi, then up into the driver side quarter panel, back to the rear post, up that post to the AC condersor in the rear AC unit............and nothing but net.........

yeah, simple as that. i would like to eventually have rear air when mine is done, but at this point, that seems like a long, long, time away

Ah so thats what they look like !!!!
I'll get on the case making some, it'll be a while until the headliner goes in as i've found some rot under the vinyl roof,
