What SBC with O/D?

I have a`91 3/4t 4wd Suburban that I`d like to use a`71 350 in.The Suburban has 4.10s,4L80E,12.50/35 MTRs,and a 6.2 diesel.The 350 is from a`71 c/20 and coupled with the TH350 still.
I`m wanting opinions on how to build the motor for this combo.I want optimum hiway performance in o/d.I guess a broad torque band. The gears will help the bottom end.I am after all the mileage I can get.I plan to use a spread bore.
Do I go right to a 383?355?350?Stock compression/higher?I want a motor that is in it`s sweet spot in o/d in a heavy vehicle.I`d go to a smaller motor, but am I asking too much with the tires/gears/od?A higher rpm smaller V8?A 292?I don`t need to fly, either.I guess I want to limit it to using this 350 I have.

Re: What SBC with O/D?

Ok...how would you build a`71 truck 350 for the Suburban w/4.10s and o/d for a good hiway hauler?

It did good with the 135hp 6.2 diesel.I imagine a stock build would feel great. It has 3" pipes all the way out with 6" round Dynamaxs.I guess an RV cam,headers,quadrajet,HEI...

Off topic...

How's the ride with the 6.2? i.e. How's the noise level and vibration?
