Re: what gear ratio

Apparently in the 1/2 tons there was a big range of gears available from 3.08 to 4.10. I think only the 3/4 or 1 ton's could be had with 4.56 or 5.something's

Re: what gear ratio

4.10 avalible but uncommon
3.73 and 3.07 were both very common and both standard with certian powertrain combos.
I can't fugure out the second part... if you have a half ton, then why would you need to swap to a 5 or 6 lug? It should already be a 5 or 6 lug.
There are no bolt in rear axle assemblys after 72

Re: what gear ratio

longhorn, my current truck is a c20 that has the dana axle with 8 lug. i am looking at a gear change. a person is parting out a C10. (krazyray ) trying to decide if i do gear change and keep the 8 lug 600$. or put a 5 lug rear axle and then convert the front. Does any one make a conversion for the front the just replaces the rotor?

Re: what gear ratio

you won't be able to just toss C/10 gears in a C/20. The only way that'll happen is if they both have dana60 rear ends which is so unlikely that we can all assume it isn't so.
