Re: People who have aluminum radiator w/ electric fans
i got a nice 3 core radiator for 180 bucks off ebay... mrradiatorguy or something like that. I searched around for a while, found a package deal with 2 12 inch fans and a temp controller for 65 bucks. It works GREAT!!! I love it. Please also note that it's working great on a big block.

PowerPro, what shroud are you using with the fan? Do you have any pictures of the fan and radiator installed?

Re: People who have aluminum radiator w/ electric fans
The fans provide their own shroud and all the mounting materials are provided in the kit. If you look over on the far side of the radiator, you can see where i put the thermostat by the radiator inlet. BTW, i highly recommend that you put the fans on BEFORE you install the radiator. It will make the project a million times easier.
If you have further questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Re: People who have aluminum radiator w/ electric fans
Oh and for those of u who are going to ask, i know that's a wierd radiator hose, but it was orriginally chosen to keep the hose away from the stock mechanical fan and it works well at the moment, so i haven't swapped it out. The truck is definitely a work in progress, but the wife wants me to keep it in running condition while i work on it, so... there's only so much i can do under the hood... She's supportive of me having the truck and working on it, so I'm not going to complain about the conditions...
The taped up fittings are for a trans cooler, but i already have one set up. Eventually, i'll be using those ports for an oil cooler. The tape is just to keep out dirt in the meantime.

Re: People who have aluminum radiator w/ electric fans
I would recommend buying electric fans that include a shroud that covers the entire radiator core like the one big_al_71 has or the entropy units or the ones that WES at Classic Heartbeat sells. Otherwise, you are wasting core area and may experience reduced cooling efficiency. It happened to me and I built a larger custom shroud to cure my heating issues.

Questions: What size motor are you running with that radiator? Towing? 2 or 3 row Radiator? When driving, are you using or NOT using the electric fans to cool? Would like to hear some results of the uses of these as I am looking to purchase one for my truck. THX!

Re: People who have aluminum radiator w/ electric fans
Im really curious to what exact fan from flex a lite that is, they have like 3 or 4 different models of dual fans, and it looks like the fan was meant for the rad the way is attached with the brackets. haysonj Do you have the same brackets on your fan??

Re: People who have aluminum radiator w/ electric fans
The fan is the universal one at Jegs It is 27X17 with 13 inch fans. I made my own brackets as the brackets it came with I didn't like.
