'72 rims
Guys,
I was checking out these rims on Jegs: http://www.jegs.com/i/Cragar/260/3305855/10002/-1 But, I wasn't sure if the backspacing (3 3/4") was fairly standard or not. I might end up dropping the car at some point in time, but probably not any time soon. I was suggested to get the 15x8 rims. Also, someone said that I should have a 5X5 bolt pattern, but I measured it on the rear end, and I swear I got 5X5 1/2. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Thanks. |

5 on 5 is what you have, you probably werent measuring the right lug to tug, or weren't centered on the lugs.

Re: '72 rims
Thanks for the help, any idea if 3 3/4 backspacing is going to give me any trouble on 15x8 wheels?
I am thinking towards 275/60/15 tires. |

Re: '72 rims
X2 your bolt pattern is 5 on 5, However you wont get any measurements of 5" across any of the lug nuts because none of them are directly across from each other heres a pdf showing a ball park measurement across two studs.
Here would be a pdf if I could attach, plan B you should have ~4 3/4" across any two studs not next to each other.

Measure from the center on one hole to the BACK of the third hole.

Re: '72 rims
3 3/4 backspacing is fine and pretty generic fitment to GM half ton trucks. Most places keep those wheels in stock since they fit non lowered GM trucks from 71-98 model.
It's going to cause the wheel to sit a bit outward and flush with the fender lip. You current wheels look like they likely have about that measurement. I'd go for 4 to 4.5 inch BS myself to allow lowering in the future without rubbing the fender lip.
