Mud Flaps

Greetings Everyone,
Is anyone running mud flaps? We want to add these as we will be driving 2XO this winter. Have not found much past the everyday plain black things.
Thanks

Re: Mud Flaps

Man, I haven't seen mudflaps for many years! Not sure if I've ever seen them on these 67-72 trucks unless they were 1 ton or bigger. I remember they were popular in the 50's and early 60's on some cars and trucks but these days if someone uses them, it's strictly for nostalgia or retro look.

What are 2XO's? I'm not familiar with the term.

Re: Mud Flaps

These GM accessory flaps look good and are pretty universal.

Re: Mud Flaps

What is the point of mudlaps? Is there supposed to be a one foot square area of your body that gets preserved.I think they are pointless. They hold crap that`s blasted between them and the body and I`ve never seen a vehicle that wasn`t entirely salt sprayed coming off the hiway.I`m just saying, mudflaps won`t save the body from the harm done driving in winter.

Re: Mud Flaps

Man, out here, everyone has mud flaps. I have some on my truck that my dad made out of one large tractor-trailer mud flap. They are relatively small (not the big ones that hang down) and keep the water / mud spray off of the body during the winter months. They did well to keep the trailer cleaner, too.

EDIT: Also, I live in a place where there's not salt and etc. to worry about, just rain.

Re: Mud Flaps

Here is a set I have. Going to put em on one of my trucks someday.

I thought the purpose of mud flaps was more along the lines to cut back on the debris flying outta your tires into other cars.

Re: Mud Flaps

I guess I should clarify that we are looking for a "mud guard" that is molded to the body/fender profile. We have them on our other vehicles to keep the snow and slush off the rockers. While some people do not think this is necessary, I do. Note that this is my opinion. I also feel that with them we do not have to knock off a bunch of stuff off the truck. With wider tires this will help keep rocks and such from getting beat against the body.
We have already spent considerable amount of time in trying to locate these. We posted this on the forum as we have had great success from everyone here when we ask a question. My father always said that the only stupid question is the one you are afraid to ask! So we ASK often.
Thanks for the responses,
MrBlue

Re: Mud Flaps

Were those not what you were talking about that I posted from ebay????

Those on ebay are just like the ones we put on my father's K30. They are very nice and block off flying rocks.

Re: Mud Flaps

I got them to protect my boat and whatever else I'm towing from getting beat up.

My truck still has the "Big Wonderful Wyoming" flaps that were on it when I got it. (From Wyoming)
