Edelbrock 1406 question

hey guys i'm new here. and my question for you is, will the stock accelerator cable, dedent cable, and throttle return spring work on this carb? i ordered the adapter plate for the manifold, so i'm good there. and is there anything else that needs to be adapted for this carb? thanks, i'm looking forward to the wealth of knowledge the people on this site possess!

I am running the same carb but with a manual trans so I can't tell you anything about the detent cable hookup.

I had to cut the throttle cable bracket in two right over the vacuum port for the brake booster and add a small piece of metal to give the bracket the right bolt spacing to fit.

You may be able to use the secondary mount holes to get it to work but I used a Holley pattern heat shield under mine so I was limited to the Holley pattern bolt locations.

You may not have to modify anything other than your fuel line.

Get the tight fitting fuel inlet line with integral fuel filter that Edelbrock sells. It is a slick piece and makes routing the fuel line much easier.

Welcome to the site.
Do you have cruise control?

I use the intake throttle bracket.

It's the best one I've tried.

Did you buy the TV cable adaptor?
You can see mine on this picture.

Use new a new double spring setup. You can use the original Q-jet springs if they reach.

Re: Edelbrock 1406 question

www.jcwhitney.com has it the cheapest. I think I paid $22 for it. Other places charge $35 for it.

My motor has a lift loop it.

Post a picture of your engine from the top. We can suggest a location based on available brackets.

I was able to make my stock throttle cable bracket and return spring work with minor work even when I switched it to the Holley bolt hole locations to work with my heat shield.

Using the stock Q-Jet mount bolt locations it should fit without any modifications.
