Has anyone used a 67-72 chassis or 73-87 and is there a easyer swap such as a s10? I am ok with mount mods but was hoping to avoid a clip swap any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Why don't you want to do a mustang II IFS (or the like) on your frame?

I knew of 1 guy that used a s10 don't know yr or model, but I do rember that he needed a larger offset on the rims to push them out more . The wheel base is way narrow.

IMO, a independent front suspension under the stock frame is the best way to go. that way you dont have to southern engineer the radiator mounts, cab mounts, bed mounts, front and rear bumper mounts, etc etc.

My dad's truck has a dodge dakota front suspension under it from industrial chassis (which is now out of business i assume??) and it handles excellent. power rack and pinion steering with a sway bar, it handles nearly as good as my old 78 trans am did.

right now im putting a mustang II under a spare chassis to convert my pickup to 2wd. it was a VERY simple job to put the ifs crossmember under it. i had it tack welded where i wanted it in about 15 minutes. of course it takes an hour or two to burn it in and grind it all down. but if you have a 220 volt welder and a tape measure, this is a job that the average joe can do for sure.

I have a 67-72 swb frame from a parts truck i have that is already lowered i was hanging onto in case I wanted to change my pro street 67 back to stock suspension and a friend offered to sell a 55 cab,box and front clip just wondered if it would make an easy project as there is no frame with the 55 thanks for any info

Well, if you don't have a frame. It seens like there was some talk fo this not to long ago. Have you tryed a search?

I am in the early stages of putting task force sheetmetal on 88-98 chevy chassis and it looks like it will be easy.
