wp silverado's 67 build
Well here goes, me and my pops bought this truck a few years back when we sold our drag car because i wanted something for the street. its a 1967 chevy c-10 with a small back window and i believe its a 68 bed (it has side markers). it had a 283 and a 3 speed trans with the factory 12 bolt and aftermarket 4.11 gears when i picked it up. it was in pretty rough shape but still seemed to be a good start, someone had already converted it to 5 lug and installed power front disk brakes aswell as lowered the rear and installed front spindles. here are a few pics of when i first got it

Re: wp silverado's 67 build
sorry for the amount of pictures but i have a ton to share, first up was a ton of cleaning, getting some chrome for it, a tach, some drunken attempts at flaming it and a set of wheels,

Re: wp silverado's 67 build
the next part is pretty interesting and il try to keep it short. i had a yukon for sale and a guy bought it sight unseen for my asking price, when he came to get it we started shooting the sh1t about cars and hotrods and it turned out he had a 65 vette. he said he had a brand new numbers matching 65 vette 327 motor .60 over with a set of 202 valved double hump heads fresh from the machine shop with a 4 grand bill that he wanted to get rid of. i told him i would love it but couldnt afford it and he said i could just have it as long as he could see it in the truck when i was done
so i picked it up and a m-21 four speed and dropped them in with an aluminum radiator, also threw another drunken paintjob on it,

Re: wp silverado's 67 build
thats about how i drove it for the past year or so untill earlier this year when i decided to whip it into shape,
i picked up a set of 1.6 rockers and threw em on, got some smooth bed markers, a new dash pad, a new shifter, wrapped the headers, braided fuel line, and some door sills, i kept blowing the alt belt since i dont have accesory holes in the heads and the cheapo bracket werent working so i got a low mount bracket for my single wire alt,

Re: wp silverado's 67 build
heres a few things i have waiting to go in the truck as soon as i pick up the set of heads i just put a downpayment on,
the cam is a 510/533 and thats with 1.5 rockers so between the new cam/lifter setup, the tunnel ram, and the heads im getting it should be a pretty nice runner. btw the heads are .202 valved, ported and polished, heavier springs, screw in studs, and pushrod guides

Re: wp silverado's 67 build
Wow, I can't believe you got that engine for free!!!
That first set of flames looked flat out sick! Great work. Since it's gone now, I'll be honest, round two on the flames looked like ass Current paint job looks cool. Have you thought about shaving the rear markers or adding the fronts?

Re: wp silverado's 67 build
so i know my updates have been slacking so heres the short version. i pulled the intake to see what kind of issues the tunnel ram would cause and well... i need to do some work.
hen i pulled the heads and all and got the new ones on. today i adjusted the valves set the dizzy in and mounted the lower intake, this was bare block and from today

Re: wp silverado's 67 build
Looks to me like your engine is in the L6 position caus it is right where mine is. makes getting the distributor in and out a pain. You could make that work would just have to remove the upper manifold to change the distributor. Ive considerd moving mine into the v8 position but dont want to change the driveshaft.
