Twitchin Build Thread

Hey Guys
I'm startin my build (atleast the interesting stuff)and figured i might as well do a thread while I'm at it. first off I'm 17 and I'm a senior in high school so my budget is a little small. I started out with a 1969 longbed fleetside that had a l6 250 which is stayin for now. since i have had it i have installed 4 inch rear springs and 2 inch front springs along with 2.5 inch drop spindles. also the carb has been rebuilt and i put a flowmaster muffler on it. i plan to bag it with cups and plates in the front and a notch and stock trailing arms in the back.

heres what it looks like right now....

my dad told me to make a shopping list of all the parts i need so he knows how much hes gonna spend. so far i have...

4 airlift dominator 2600. are these ok?
front plates and cups
rear over axle brackets
notch(might fab my own)
nitrogen install kit from AVS
fittings
dot line
valves

ok. so thats all i have right now. let me know if i missed anything or if you have any questions and let me know what you think. thanks

well one of my buddys has it on his truck and its still faster than my other buddy who has two compressors and two 3 gallon tanks. plus i could basically set it up for $250 where as the 2 compressors and tanks would be upwards of $500. then its just fun to turn the regulator up to 300psi and hop it every once in a while oh. and your build is lookin pretty sweet by the way

i wanna lay frame. and rocker or door eventually. i think for now im gonna use the factory trailing arms and either do a longer c notch to clear the arms or i might just z the frame. i was also lookin at your floating axle idea which is pretty slick. but i think i still want a bed on mine. haha

hell ya man! while youre body droppin it you might as well door it! haha i dont blame ya for still wantin a bed. i just havent seen many people with a floating axle and my buddies i have been wantin to do it so since i was low on cash i did it and sold the bed. i could be wrong (someone please correct me if i am) but from what i understand in the back you can use 3in blocks with the stock trailing arms to lay out but youll also need a dropmember or section you existing front xmember.

That sounds about right. lve noticed some people getting pretty low and they didnt even have blocks. Ill probably end up just running a longer step notch to clear the trailing arms just so i dont gotta run 3 inch blocks because they could cause some problems with the scrubline while runnin my 15 inch wheels.

Re: Twitchin Build Thread

Still haven't really started anything. just been finalizing the parts we need to get next weekend. But I did spend a few minutes doing this photochop of what I hope the truck looks like one day. I still need to add some color but I'm kinda diggin the simplicity of the white. Anyways....enjoy.

Cool photochop! It looks like you live in a great neighborhood! I like the simplicity of the white and the wagon wheels with bags will look pretty sweet! Once you figure out how much all the bag stuff costs let me know, I'm thinking about bagging mine soon. I just graduated highschool and am a freshman in college now.

thanks. Ya i live in the "rich" part of my town according to all my buddies at school even though this would be considered pretty normal where i used to live. its all about location i guess. ill post the prices as i go and i think ill keep a total as i go so i make sure i dont spend much. haha
