Bummed out
so me and my wife made a sad realization the other night...my swb c10, won't hold the two of us, our 19 month old little girl, and the new one that's on the way, so the swb has to go so I can buy my neighbors truck...it's a 2001 chevy ext cab...very nice truck, but I'm gonna miss my diesel...here's a shot of it...

Re: Bummed out
Hey, I know it can be tough. I have a 7yo, 2yo, and just found out my wife and I will be having a third The only way it works for us is when I have the kids my wife takes my truck to work, and I drive the m*n* v*n. I know don't give me too hard a time it beats selling the truck.

Re: Bummed out
I wouldn't mind having that. Sorry to hear about you having to sell it.

Re: Bummed out
Oh ..... I can relate ...... just sold my 78 stepper to fund a crew cab dually cause with me, the wife, a 17 yr. old & my 4 yr. old in a child seat will NOT fit in that tiney cab.
I opted for the crew squarebody that is on it's way from cally. ratty46 |

Re: Bummed out
I wanted to find a crew cab body and put it on a burb frame, but I don't think that's in the time constraints...the new baby is coming in March...either way, I have to get rid of the swb... another thing I wanted to do was take the diesel out of the swb and put it in the crew and put the 454 out of the crew and put it in the swb...lots of work and don't know if it's worth it...my neighbors truck is nice though...it's fully loaded and has a tool box behind the back window and then it has tool boxes on either side ontop of the bed rails...it's got the 5.3 in it...does anyone know what kind of gas mileage I'm going to be getting with the 5.3

Re: Bummed out
I got pretty good mileage out of my 01 5.3 ext. cab. Seems like it averaged around 19, probably 70% highway, 30% in town.
